In a special message, the chairman senate said Pakistan highly values its longstanding, friendly, and mutually respectful relationship with Italy and remains committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Gillani noted that Italy has made significant contributions to the promotion of democracy, human rights, the rule of law, social progress, and international cooperation. He said Pakistan appreciates Italy’s constructive role in advancing these universal values and creating opportunities for inclusive development.

The chairman senate emphasized that Pakistan and Italy enjoy enduring relations based on mutual trust, respect, and common interests.

Highlighting another important dimension of bilateral relations, the chairman senate praised the partnership between Pakistan and Italy in archaeology, cultural heritage preservation, and academic collaboration.

He particularly acknowledged Italy’s support in the research, conservation, and restoration of Pakistan’s historical heritage, especially sites associated with the Gandhara Civilization and archaeological locations in the Swat region.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral engagement, Gillani said parliamentary exchanges, economic cooperation, cultural collaboration, and people-to-people connectivity between Pakistan and Italy would continue to grow in the years ahead.
