Gilani mourns martyrdom of two PAF pilots in Mardan training aircraft crash

Islamabad, June 15, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the crash of a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training aircraft near Mardan, which claimed the lives of two pilots during the line of duty.

The pilots, Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi, embraced martyrdom when the training aircraft crashed while carrying out an operational mission.

In a statement, the Senate Chairman paid rich tribute to the fallen officers, describing them as brave sons of the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the country with dedication, courage and professionalism.

“Their unwavering commitment to duty and service to the nation will always be remembered with pride and respect,” Gilani said.

He offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and extended heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families. The Chairman Senate said the entire nation stands in solidarity with the grieving families and shares their sorrow during this difficult time.

Gilani also conveyed his condolences to the Pakistan Air Force, acknowledging the invaluable services and sacrifices rendered by its personnel in safeguarding the country’s skies.

Praying for the departed souls, he asked Allah Almighty to grant them eternal peace and bestow patience and strength upon the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
