Islamabad, June 15, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday received a telephone call from Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, during which the two leaders discussed recent regional developments and bilateral cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office, both foreign ministers welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran, describing it as a positive development for regional peace, stability and the wider international community.
During the conversation, the Japanese foreign minister expressed Japan’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s sustained mediatory role and constructive diplomatic efforts throughout the process, acknowledging Islamabad’s contribution in facilitating and advancing the outcome.
The two leaders underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional and international challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement.
They also agreed to maintain close contact and regular exchanges to further strengthen Pakistan-Japan relations and enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest.
The discussion reflected the growing cooperation between Islamabad and Tokyo and their shared interest in promoting regional stability and constructive international engagement.
