Islamabad, June 15, 2026: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday lauded Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, describing it as a historic diplomatic achievement that helped end a decades-long impasse and contributed to regional and global peace.

Addressing the National Assembly, the Speaker said it was a matter of immense pride for Pakistan that the country had played a constructive role in bringing the two sides to the negotiating table. He congratulated the House and the nation on what he termed a landmark success in diplomacy and peacebuilding.

Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan’s sustained engagement and diplomatic efforts had helped create an environment conducive to dialogue, easing tensions that had posed a threat to international peace and security. He noted that Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution had once again been recognized on the global stage.

The Speaker paid tribute to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his leadership, vision and commitment to peace, saying the premier’s statesmanship had been instrumental in advancing efforts aimed at fostering understanding between the concerned parties.

He also commended Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar for his diplomatic leadership and role in facilitating the process, while acknowledging the contributions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s diplomatic corps.

Ayaz Sadiq further praised Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for supporting Pakistan’s peace-oriented diplomatic initiatives. He said the coordinated efforts of the country’s civil and military leadership had demonstrated Pakistan’s capacity to act as a responsible and credible stakeholder in international affairs.

The Speaker also appreciated the role of Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi in maintaining effective coordination throughout the process and acknowledged National Security Adviser General Asim Malik for his strategic guidance. He praised Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and officials of the Foreign Office for their professionalism and dedication.

Congratulating the leadership of both Iran and the United States on the reported diplomatic breakthrough, Ayaz Sadiq expressed hope that the ongoing engagement would pave the way for lasting peace, stability and mutual understanding.

He also thanked friendly countries that supported Pakistan’s efforts, emphasizing that international cooperation remains vital for addressing complex global challenges.

Welcoming Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam and his delegation to the National Assembly, the Speaker congratulated the envoy on the progress achieved and appreciated his role in promoting dialogue and understanding.

Concluding his remarks, Ayaz Sadiq prayed that Pakistan would continue to contribute positively towards the realization of a durable Iran–United States peace agreement, promoting peace, stability and prosperity across the region and beyond.
