London, November 14, 2024- Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif reported to local authorities an incident of harassment and death threats he received while traveling on London’s Elizabeth Line. The Minister visited the Pakistan High Commission in London to file an official report with local police, providing details of the incident, which occurred on November 11 around 3:30 p.m.

According to Khawaja Asif, he was on a private visit and traveling with a relative to Reading when he was accosted by a group of three to four individuals on the train. The individuals allegedly harassed him, filmed him without permission, used inappropriate language, and threatened him with a knife. London Transport Police have since initiated an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.

Minister Asif expressed disappointment over the incident, noting that such threats and harassment are not only a personal concern but also a matter of shame and regret for the 1.7 million British-Pakistani residents in the UK.
