Islamabad, June 18, 2026: Bahrain has congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (IMoU) between the United States and Iran, commending Islamabad’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, on Thursday.

During the conversation, the Bahraini foreign minister congratulated Pakistan on the successful signing of the memorandum, in which Pakistan served as a witness, and praised its diplomatic efforts in supporting engagement between Washington and Tehran.

Dr. Al Zayani lauded Pakistan’s constructive mediation role, acknowledging its contribution to the understanding reached between the United States and Iran following months of regional tensions.

The two leaders exchanged congratulations on what they described as a significant diplomatic milestone and expressed hope that the agreement would pave the way for lasting peace, stability and enhanced cooperation across the region.

They underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement and dialogue in resolving disputes and promoting regional security.

The conversation also focused on bilateral relations, with both foreign ministers reaffirming the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Bahrain. They emphasized the need for continued high-level exchanges and closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The call reflects growing international recognition of Pakistan’s role in supporting diplomatic efforts that culminated in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which is being widely viewed as an important step toward reducing tensions and promoting peace in the Middle East.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and continue working together to further strengthen Pakistan-Bahrain relations and advance shared regional objectives.
