Islamabad, June 28, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation following the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to the Foreign Office, Dr. Al Zayani congratulated Senator Dar on the successful signing of the Islamabad MoU and commended Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the understanding between the concerned parties. He expressed confidence that the agreement would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.
The Bahraini foreign minister also conveyed his intention to visit Pakistan in the near future to personally thank Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) for their significant efforts in helping achieve the ceasefire.
Senator Dar thanked his Bahraini counterpart for his warm sentiments and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means of resolving disputes and advancing peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond.
The two foreign ministers also reaffirmed the close and longstanding ties between Pakistan and Bahrain and expressed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
