Rawalpindi, June 28, 2026: Three Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) personnel were martyred and four others injured after militants attacked a Rangers camp in Karachi late Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

According to the military’s media wing, the attack took place on the night of June 27 when militants allegedly affiliated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, which the ISPR described as an “Indian proxy,” targeted the Rangers camp.

The ISPR said the attackers first detonated an explosive device at the camp’s main gate before attempting to breach the perimeter. Rangers personnel responded swiftly, killing three of the attackers and capturing a fourth suspect, identified by the military as an injured Afghan national.

During the exchange of fire, three Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom in the line of duty, while four soldiers sustained injuries, the statement added.

The military said sanitisation operations were underway in the area to eliminate any remaining militants and ensure the security of the vicinity.

Reaffirming its commitment to the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the national vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” the ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations against militancy and foreign-sponsored terrorism across the country.

The statement further said Pakistan would undertake retaliatory operations against those responsible for the attack to avenge the martyrdom of its soldiers.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) expressed deep condolences to the families of the martyred personnel, stating that their sacrifices further strengthen the nation’s resolve to safeguard the country against terrorism at all costs.
