Tajikistan Ambassador meets the High Commissioner of Maldives

Islamabad, July 3,2026: The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Mr. Yusuf Sharifzoda, met with Mr. Uz Mohammed Thoha, High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Pakistan.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to strengthening and expanding the friendly relations and bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Maldives.

The parties exchanged views on prospects for enhancing cooperation in the political, economic, trade, tourism, education, and cultural fields, and expressed their mutual interest in making effective use of the existing opportunities to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan briefed his counterpart on the achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan during the years of independence, the main priorities of the country’s foreign policy, as well as Tajikistan’s international initiatives in the areas of water, glacier preservation, and the strengthening of global peace and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue, further strengthen bilateral cooperation, and deepen the friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Maldives.
