Sialkot, November 17, 2024- In a shocking development, the prime suspect in the murder case of Zara, her mother-in-law Sughran, has confessed to the crime in Daska, a tehsil of Sialkot.

The case was heard in the court of Duty Magistrate Humaira Muzaffar, where the key suspects – Sughran, Yasmin, Abdullah, and Naveed were presented. Additional charges, including kidnapping with intent to kill and murder, were added to the FIR initially filed for Zara’s abduction.

The court remanded Naveed into police custody for one day. Sughran, her other daughter Saba, and her son Qasim are also under police custody as the investigation continues.

According to police officials, Sughran confessed that jealousy and hatred drove her to murder her daughter-in-law. She admitted that the accusations tarnishing Zara’s character were baseless. In her statement to the police, Sughran said, “I made a mistake. It’s all my fault. My daughter, grandson, and relatives are in trouble because of me.”

So far, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, and two are still under custody. The suspects, including Sughran, Yasmin, Abdullah, and Naveed, are scheduled to appear in court again tomorrow as investigations progress.
