Islamabad, July 14, 2026: Pakistan and Bangladesh on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation on women’s empowerment, trade, education, social welfare and people-to-people exchanges.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid Hossain, in Islamabad.

Welcoming Dr. Hossain to Pakistan for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, Dar appreciated Bangladesh’s participation in the conference and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing cooperation on women’s empowerment within the framework of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and beyond.

Recalling his visit to Dhaka in August last year, the deputy prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties and expressed readiness to expand cooperation across a wide range of areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on enhancing collaboration in trade, education, social welfare and people-to-people contacts, reaffirming their shared commitment to fostering closer relations between the two countries.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women being hosted by Pakistan in Islamabad.
