Islamabad, July 14, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned the missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, describing them as a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for its security.

In a post on X, the prime minister denounced the attacks carried out the previous night after Saudi Arabia announced that its coalition forces had intercepted ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi movement towards the Kingdom’s southern region.

Saudi authorities said the coalition successfully intercepted the missiles fired by what it described as the “terrorist Houthi militia,” preventing them from reaching their intended targets.

Condemning the attacks, Prime Minister Shehbaz said such “reprehensible actions” had the potential to further undermine regional peace and stability.

“Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering support for the Kingdom’s security and stands in complete solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at this critical time,” he said.

The prime minister added that Pakistan would continue to support all sincere efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability, security and mutual understanding across the region.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a mutual defence pact in September 2025, under which both countries agreed to treat aggression against either state as an attack on both, significantly strengthening their longstanding strategic and security partnership.

Earlier this year, Pakistan deployed fighter jets and other military personnel to Saudi Arabia under the defence agreement. In April, Pakistani fighter aircraft and support planes arrived at King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province to enhance joint defence cooperation and contribute to regional and international peace and stability, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defence.
