Rawalpindi, July 21, 2026: Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral cooperation and effective border management.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation on security-related issues and enhancing coordination between Pakistan and Iran to address shared regional challenges.
The visiting Iranian minister appreciated Pakistan’s consistent efforts and its diplomatic role in easing regional tensions, promoting de-escalation and serving as an anchor for peace in the region.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to maintaining close coordination and strengthening cooperative mechanisms to safeguard regional security and promote mutual prosperity.
