Islamabad, July 22, 2026: Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance regional connectivity.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state of Tajikistan-Pakistan relations and explored opportunities to expand collaboration in trade, tourism, transport and energy.
A key focus of the discussions was the implementation of the CASA-1000 regional electricity transmission project. Both sides highlighted its strategic importance in promoting regional integration, enhancing energy security and supporting sustainable economic development among the participating countries.
The ambassador and the governor also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the regions of Tajikistan, with an emphasis on fostering closer institutional and economic linkages.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue and further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Republic of Tajikistan.
