Tarouba, July 28, 2026: Justin Greaves claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket as West Indies bowled out Pakistan for 282 on the third day of the opening Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, securing a 29-run first-innings lead on Monday.
Resuming the day at 199-3, Pakistan looked well placed after overnight batter Shan Masood completed a superb century. However, a dramatic collapse saw the visitors lose their remaining seven wickets for just 83 runs, handing the initiative back to the hosts.
Pakistan resumed with Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha at the crease, and the pair added a valuable 47 runs for the fourth wicket. During the partnership, Masood brought up his seventh Test century and his first since relinquishing Pakistan’s Test captaincy to Babar Azam.
West Indies struck back when Shamar Joseph dismissed Salman Ali Agha for a patient 20 off 60 balls, an innings that included three boundaries.
Greaves then delivered the decisive blow by bowling Masood for a magnificent 109 off 184 deliveries, studded with 12 fours.
The all-rounder continued to dismantle Pakistan’s middle and lower order, removing Aamer Jamal for three, debutant Ali Usman for a duck and Mohammad Rizwan for 12 to leave the visitors reeling at 259-8.
Pakistan, who resumed after lunch on 267-8, managed to add only 15 more runs before being dismissed for 282 in 80.1 overs.
Greaves completed his maiden five-wicket haul by dismissing Mohammad Abbas for a duck early in the second session. Khurram Shahzad offered late resistance with a determined 19 off 36 deliveries before Kemar Roach wrapped up the innings.
Greaves finished with outstanding figures of 5-27 in 11 overs, while Roach and Shamar Joseph claimed two wickets each. Jayden Seales also chipped in with one wicket.
Earlier, West Indies had posted 311 in their first innings, with Shai Hope top-scoring with 92 and Kavem Hodge contributing 84. Pakistan’s Mohammad Ali led the bowling attack with figures of 4-50, while Mohammad Abbas claimed three wickets.
