Islamabad, July 29,2026: On the eve of the 35th anniversary of our country’s state independence, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan presented 35 sets of cricket equipment to our homeland.
Ahead of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of our country in Pakistan donated 35 complete sets of cricket equipment to Uzbekistan, shares Uzbekistan ambassador Alisher Takhtaev in a social media message.
This gift is much more than sporting equipment. It symbolizes the confident progress of New Uzbekistan, the strengthening of international cooperation, and support for the younger generation that will shape the future of our country.
During the years of independence, and particularly in recent years under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, our country has achieved remarkable progress in economic development, the improvement of public administration, the attraction of investment, the modernization of infrastructure, and the enhancement of people’s quality of life. Today, Uzbekistan continues to strengthen its position as an open and dynamically developing nation and a reliable partner on the international stage.
Special attention is being devoted to the development of sport in our country. Modern sports infrastructure is being established, broader opportunities are being created for young people, and Uzbek athletes are achieving outstanding results at major international competitions. The qualification of Uzbekistan’s national football team for the final stage of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history has become a memorable milestone in the history of our country’s sport.
Cricket is also developing rapidly in Uzbekistan today. As one of the world’s most popular sports and a source of national pride for Pakistan, cricket offers another promising avenue for cooperation. The donated equipment will contribute to promoting the sport among young people in Uzbekistan and further strengthen the friendship, mutual understanding, and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
