Rawalpindi, July 29, 2026: Security forces killed 32 militants during intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan over the past 24 hours as part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted against what it described as the Indian-sponsored Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan networks in an effort to eliminate militants and their facilitators.
The ISPR said multiple intelligence-based area sanitisation and targeted operations were carried out during the night of July 28-29 in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces engaged militants at several locations and killed 24 terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khawarij.
In a separate series of intelligence-based operations in Nushki district of Balochistan, security forces killed eight militants identified by the ISPR as members of Fitna al Hindustan following an intense exchange of fire.
The military said a cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was recovered and destroyed during the operations.
The ISPR added that sanitisation operations were continuing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants.
Reaffirming the country’s counterterrorism resolve, the military said the ongoing campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue with full force to eradicate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
