Islamabad, July 29, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which the two sides discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and areas of mutual interest.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with federal ministers for Defence, Commerce, National Food Security and Research, Communications, Maritime Affairs and Petroleum, Adviser to the Prime Minister and senior government officials, were also present during the meeting.
Welcoming the Kuwaiti dignitary, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The Prime Minister highlighted the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Kuwait, describing the ties as rooted in shared values, mutual trust and decades of cooperation. He said both countries had always stood by each other in difficult times.
Discussing the regional situation, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Kuwait and strongly condemned attacks against Kuwait and other Gulf countries during the ongoing conflict.
He said Pakistan was playing its role as an honest and sincere mediator and facilitator in efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, while appreciating Kuwait’s support for these diplomatic initiatives.
On bilateral relations, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Kuwait ties and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to further enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, agriculture, information technology, maritime affairs and human resource development.
He also appreciated the Kuwaiti government for hosting the Pakistani community and acknowledged its important contribution to Kuwait’s socio-economic development.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed greetings from the Kuwaiti leadership and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Pakistan in areas of mutual benefit.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s efforts, particularly those of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in supporting dialogue and diplomatic efforts to resolve regional challenges and restore peace.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continued consultation and coordination on bilateral and international issues of common interest. They also agreed to exchange delegations in the near future to further advance cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his invitation to the Crown Prince of Kuwait to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.
