Dubai, July 29, 2026: Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam, batter Shan Masood and fast bowler Mohammad Abbas have moved up in the latest ICC Test rankings following impressive individual performances in the opening Test against West Indies, despite Pakistan suffering a 90-run defeat in the match.
In the ICC Test batting rankings, Babar Azam climbed four places to 15th position with 686 rating points, while Shan Masood made a significant jump of eight places to 36th with 590 points after scoring a century in the first Test.
Several other Pakistan batters, however, slipped in the rankings. Saud Shakeel dropped three places to 24th with 641 points, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan fell eight places to 26th with 638 points. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha moved down four places to 32nd with 607 points.
Left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq retained his 53rd position, while Abdullah Shafique dropped one place to 57th with 511 points. All-rounder Aamer Jamal remained at 100th position.
Australia’s Travis Head continues to hold the top spot in the ICC Test batting rankings, followed by England’s Harry Brook in second place and veteran batter Joe Root in third.
In the bowling rankings, Mohammad Abbas emerged as Pakistan’s biggest mover, climbing nine places from 26th to 17th position with 690 rating points after his impressive performance against West Indies.
Spinner Noman Ali retained his seventh position with 809 points, while Shaheen Shah Afridi slipped four places to 29th with 617 points. Sajid Khan dropped one place to 35th with 545 points, whereas Hasan Ali remained at 38th position with 501 points.
Fast bowler Khurram Shahzad moved down one place to 52nd, Aamer Jamal stayed at 81st, Asif Afridi dropped three places to 87th, Mohammad Ali slipped to 93rd, and Salman Ali Agha fell four places to 99th.
India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the ICC Test bowling rankings, followed by New Zealand’s Matt Henry in second place and Australia’s Mitchell Starc in third.
