Melbourne, Australia -November 20, 2024: Pakistan has been honored with the prestigious “Best Pavilion” award at the Global Sourcing Expo, currently being held at the Melbourne Convention Center from November 19 to 21, 2024. This annual event is the largest exhibition for textiles, leather, leather garments, and home textile products in the Oceania region.

A delegation of 21 companies from Pakistan, sponsored by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), is participating in the expo, showcasing the country’s expertise in textiles and leather products. The event, attended by leading producers from China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, and other ASEAN countries, serves as a significant platform for Pakistani exporters to demonstrate their competitiveness.

Highlighting the importance of the Australian market, Pakistani exports to the region amount to $300 million annually, with $190 million comprising textiles and leather garments.

The Pakistan Pavilion was inaugurated by His Excellency Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Australia. During his visit, he engaged with exhibitors to discuss strategies for enhancing Pakistan’s exports and praised the delegation for their efforts. Exhibitors expressed gratitude for the support and arrangements made by the High Commission.

The award for “Best Pavilion” was presented during the event’s Welcome Reception, where HE Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri received the memento on behalf of TDAP. The recognition reflects the exceptional quality, design, and presentation of Pakistani products, reinforcing the country’s growing reputation in international markets.

The participation and recognition at the Global Sourcing Expo mark another milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to expand its footprint in the global textile and leather industries.
