Islamabad, August 1, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday expressed profound grief over the demise of Member of the National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal, describing his death as a significant loss to Parliament and Pakistan’s democratic process.

In a condolence message, the National Assembly Speaker extended heartfelt sympathies to the late lawmaker’s son, Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, and the bereaved family.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said the loss of a father was an irreparable tragedy and assured Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar that he shared the family’s sorrow during this difficult time. He prayed that Allah Almighty grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless the family with patience and strength to bear the loss.

Paying tribute to the deceased parliamentarian, the Speaker said Malik Muhammad Iqbal had devoted his political career to public service and remained steadfast in serving the people. He noted that the late MNA made valuable contributions to national politics and played an important role in strengthening democratic traditions in the country.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said Parliament had lost a proactive, dedicated and public-spirited legislator whose parliamentary, political and public services would be remembered for years to come.

He concluded by praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for courage and fortitude for the bereaved family.
