Islamabad, August 1, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Member of the National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, paying tribute to his parliamentary, political and public services.
In a condolence message, the Senate chairman said the country had lost a sincere, dedicated and people-centric public representative whose contributions to strengthening democratic values and serving the people would be remembered.
Gilani said the late parliamentarian remained committed to public service throughout his political and parliamentary career and rendered valuable services for the promotion of democratic traditions in the country.
The chairman also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar on the passing of his father and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family.
Expressing solidarity with the family in their hour of grief, Gilani prayed to Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and bless the bereaved family with patience and strength to bear the irreparable loss.
