Islamabad, August 1, 2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday paid tribute to Pakistan’s security forces for killing five terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan and expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi.
In a statement, the speaker commended the successful operation against militants belonging to what officials described as Fitna Al-Khawarij, saying the security forces continued to demonstrate unwavering resolve in defending the country against terrorism.
Ayaz Sadiq paid homage to Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi, who embraced martyrdom while leading his troops during the operation, describing his sacrifice as a lasting symbol of courage, patriotism and devotion to duty.
He said the nation would always remember the martyr’s bravery and selfless service in the defence of Pakistan.
The speaker also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah grant the martyr the highest place in Jannah and bless his family with patience and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Ayaz Sadiq said the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s security forces in the fight against terrorism were unforgettable and continued to strengthen the nation’s determination to defeat all threats to peace and security. He added that the armed forces’ steadfast commitment to thwarting every conspiracy against Pakistan deserved the highest appreciation.
