Australian diplomats discuss academic cooperation with QAU vice chancellor

Islamabad, August 6, 2026: Senior diplomats from the Australian High Commission in Pakistan called on Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal on Thursday to discuss expanding cooperation in higher education, research and academic collaboration.

The Australian delegation comprised First Secretaries Richard Salmons and Yasmin Bottos, who held discussions with the vice chancellor on matters of mutual interest relating to higher education and institutional partnerships.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening academic linkages between Quaid-i-Azam University and Australian universities, with a particular focus on promoting collaborative research, faculty engagement and educational exchanges.

They also explored opportunities for future institutional cooperation aimed at enhancing academic excellence, research partnerships and international collaboration between Pakistan and Australia.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to strengthening educational ties and expanding cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries.
