Rawalpindi, August 11, 2026: President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Usman Shaukat has welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, describing it as an important development for regional peace, stability and collective security.

He said the agreement reflected the strong brotherly relations among the three countries and provided a framework for enhanced cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges.

Shaukat welcomed the clarification that the agreement was purely defensive in nature, was not directed against any country and was consistent with the principles of collective self-defence and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

He said lasting peace and security were essential for sustainable economic growth, investment, trade and regional connectivity.

“A stable and secure region creates opportunities for businesses, strengthens investor confidence and opens new avenues for economic cooperation,” he said.

The RCCI president emphasised that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye had significant potential to expand bilateral and trilateral trade, investment, technology cooperation, tourism and business-to-business linkages.

He expressed hope that the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement would contribute to a more secure, peaceful and prosperous region while helping build stronger economic partnerships among the three countries.
