Islamabad, August 13, 2026: Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation, with a particular focus on expanding investment opportunities and business-to-business linkages between their private sectors.
Chargé d’Affaires of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Pakistan Aibek Tilebalive made the remarks during a meeting with Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), at the FPCCI President Secretariat in Islamabad.
The two sides discussed ways to expand bilateral commerce, promote investment and establish stronger direct links between business communities in Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking on the occasion, Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted the planned visit of a Pakistani business delegation to Kyrgyzstan under the FPCCI platform, describing it as an important step towards increasing bilateral trade and commercial engagement.
He also appreciated Kyrgyzstan’s active role in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) framework and noted that the upcoming SCO Council of Heads of Government Summit in Kyrgyzstan would be a significant milestone.
The FPCCI president said the SCO provided an effective platform for deepening economic cooperation among member states and creating new opportunities for trade and investment.
Tilebalive reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to further strengthening economic relations with Pakistan, pointing to considerable untapped potential for trade and investment between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of direct interaction between the two countries’ business communities, saying stronger private-sector engagement could help translate existing opportunities into tangible commercial partnerships.
The Kyrgyz diplomat also highlighted the significance of establishing a Joint Business Council, saying it would provide a structured platform for strengthening links between traders, investors and industrialists from both countries.
The meeting was also attended by FPCCI Vice President Tariq Khan Jadoon, Incharge FPCCI Capital Office Karim Aziz Malik, Chairman Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Council of FPCCI Jabbar Raheem Khan and other prominent business representatives.
