Islamabad, August 13, 2026: Pakistan and Norway on Thursday reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation and agreed to further deepen ties in areas including trade, investment, climate change, maritime affairs and education.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide led delegation-level talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

During the talks, the two sides expressed satisfaction over the warm and cordial state of Pakistan-Norway relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

They also acknowledged the important role played by the Pakistani diaspora in Norway and agreed to strengthen people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

The discussions also covered regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The Norwegian foreign minister commended Pakistan’s important and constructive role during the recent Iran-US conflict, particularly acknowledging the leadership and contributions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

The visit and talks are expected to provide further momentum to bilateral engagement between Pakistan and Norway, particularly in economic cooperation, climate action, education and maritime affairs.
