Islamabad, August 13, 2026: Advisor to Chairman Senate and Ambassador for the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Ms. Misbah Khar, met with the High Commissioner of Rwanda in Islamabad and discussed measures to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Rwanda.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in parliamentary affairs, trade, investment and people-to-people contacts, with both sides expressing interest in developing new avenues for mutually beneficial engagement.
The Rwandan High Commissioner highlighted the growing business and investment opportunities in Rwanda and invited Pakistani business community members to participate in a business exhibition scheduled to be held in Rwanda in September.
Ms. Khar welcomed the initiative and emphasised the importance of encouraging Pakistani entrepreneurs, exporters and investors to explore opportunities in Rwanda and gain greater access to the wider African market.
The two sides also discussed the need to improve connectivity between Pakistan and Rwanda. The Rwandan side expressed interest in establishing direct air connectivity between the two countries, noting that direct flights could facilitate business travel, tourism, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
Ms. Khar welcomed the proposal, observing that enhanced connectivity could play an important role in bringing the business communities of Pakistan and Rwanda closer and creating new opportunities for economic cooperation.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through parliamentary diplomacy, business exchanges and greater private-sector engagement.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to explore new avenues for expanding Pakistan-Rwanda cooperation and deepening relations between the two countries.
