Islamabad, August 13, 2026: Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day, describing the relationship between the two countries as rooted in centuries-old historical, cultural and civilizational ties.
In a special congratulatory message broadcast on Pakistan Television (PTV), the ambassador said it was a great honour for him to convey his warmest congratulations to the “brotherly people” of Pakistan on their national day.
Sharifzoda said Tajikistan and Pakistan were connected by multifaceted historical, civilizational and cultural links, as well as shared values, adding that the peoples of the two countries had maintained friendly relations and close bonds for centuries.
He noted that Pakistan occupied a special place in Tajikistan’s international relations and said Dushanbe highly valued its friendly relations and strategic partnership with Islamabad.
The ambassador emphasised that Tajikistan attached particular importance to further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan, noting that bilateral relations were developing in an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding.
“Today, relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan are expanding in a spirit of mutual trust and understanding, with ample opportunities for their further development,” he said.
Sharifzoda expressed confidence that the friendship and strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Pakistan would continue to grow stronger and contribute to the interests and prosperity of the peoples of both countries.
Concluding his message, the ambassador wished the Pakistani people good health, happiness and continued success and said: “Happy Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Long live the friendship between Tajikistan and Pakistan!”
