Islamabad, August 14, 2026: U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday to discuss Pakistan-U.S. bilateral cooperation and recent regional developments.
During the meeting, Dar welcomed the positive trajectory in Pakistan-U.S. relations and underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in achieving lasting peace.
The deputy prime minister emphasized that the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on June 18, 2026, in letter and spirit remained the only way forward. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and security while safeguarding the country’s national interests.
The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and conveyed her felicitations to Dar on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The meeting comes as Islamabad and Washington continue diplomatic engagement on regional security and efforts to promote stability through dialogue.
