Islamabad, August 14, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Friday received Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Sweden Ahmed Amjad Ali and called for further strengthening economic and commercial relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Dar underscored the importance of expanding Pakistan-Sweden cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, technology, renewable energy, agriculture, education and skills development.
The deputy prime minister directed the ambassador-designate to actively promote business-to-business linkages and facilitate greater investment between the two countries. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening people-to-people contacts to further deepen bilateral relations.
Dar stressed the need for efficient and timely provision of consular services, particularly for Pakistani students and members of the Pakistani diaspora in Sweden.
The meeting reflected Pakistan’s continued focus on expanding economic diplomacy and developing stronger commercial and human connections with Sweden.
