Islamabad, August 17, 2026: President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Atif Ikram Sheikh has described his nomination for the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz as an honour for Pakistan’s entire business community, saying the recognition has further strengthened his resolve to work for the country’s economic and commercial interests.

He made these remarks while addressing a large delegation of traders and industrialists led by Acting President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Irfan Chaudhry, who visited him to congratulate him on his nomination for the national honour.

Atif Ikram Sheikh thanked the ICCI leadership, Islamabad Industrial Association and members of the wider business community for their visit and congratulatory messages.

He said the large gathering reflected the solidarity and collective spirit of the business community and added that he regarded the honour not only as recognition of his own efforts but also as an acknowledgement of the contribution of traders, industrialists and entrepreneurs to Pakistan’s economic development.

“This honour belongs to all those who stood by me, supported me and encouraged me throughout my journey,” he said, adding that the recognition had given him a renewed sense of responsibility to serve the business community with greater dedication.

Atif Ikram Sheikh said his nomination was made possible by the confidence and support of colleagues, chambers, trade associations and the business community across Pakistan.

Acting President ICCI Irfan Chaudhry congratulated Atif Ikram Sheikh on behalf of the Islamabad Chamber and the wider business community, describing the nomination as a matter of pride for traders and industrialists across the country.

He appreciated Atif Ikram Sheikh’s services to the business community and said the national recognition was a befitting acknowledgement of his leadership and efforts.

Chairman ICCI Founder Group Sheikh Tariq Sadiq said Atif Ikram Sheikh had rendered valuable services for Pakistan’s business community and national economy.

He said the nomination for a prestigious national honour was a proud moment for Islamabad and reflected the growing recognition of the private sector’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic development.

Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari said the nomination represented recognition of Atif Ikram Sheikh’s continued services to the business community and the national economy.

He said Atif Ikram Sheikh had effectively highlighted the concerns and aspirations of Pakistan’s business community at national and international forums and had emerged as a strong voice for traders and industrialists.

President Islamabad Industrial Association Omais Khattak also congratulated Atif Ikram Sheikh, saying the nomination was not only a personal achievement but an honour for the entire business community, particularly Islamabad.

He expressed the hope that Atif Ikram Sheikh would continue his efforts to promote economic development, increase exports, attract investment and strengthen Pakistan’s private sector.

The visiting delegation included prominent business leaders, traders and industrialists, including Zubair Ahmed Malik, Abdul Rauf Allam, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Chaudhry Waheed ud Din, Khalid Javaid, Mian Shaukat Masood, Sheikh Aamir Waheed, Shumaila, Zakira Zia, Shahban Khalid, Basir Dawood, Shakil Munir, Batif Fareed, Chaudhry Mukhtar, Mirza Mohammad Ali, Sanaullah Khan, Fatima Azim and Shumaila Siddiqui.

Karim Aziz Malik, Tariq Jadoon, Malik Mohsin Khalid, Rohail Anwar Butt, Waseem Chaudhry, Zulqurnain Abbasi and several other business representatives were also present.

The delegation conveyed its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Atif Ikram Sheikh and expressed confidence that his national recognition would further strengthen the voice and representation of Pakistan’s business community.
