NA speaker mourns death of 15 newborns in PIMS nursery fire

Islamabad, August 26, 2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of 15 newborn babies in a fire that broke out in the nursery ward of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad.

In a condolence message, the speaker described the deaths of the innocent newborns as a deeply distressing and heartbreaking tragedy, saying the loss had caused immense pain to the bereaved parents and their families.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed his heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the affected families, saying the entire nation shared their grief at the tragic loss of innocent lives.

He said the deaths had left the country deeply saddened and expressed sympathy with the parents and relatives of the deceased babies.

The National Assembly speaker prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed children with His infinite mercy and grant their parents and families strength, courage and patience to bear the irreparable loss. Ameen.
