Multan, November 23, 2024- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday to review law and order, administrative performance, and public welfare initiatives in Multan Division.

The Chief Minister was briefed on the region’s administrative measures and law enforcement efforts. She praised the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for their effective leadership in maintaining cleanliness under the “Suthra Punjab Campaign.” Officials reported that the outsourcing of cleanliness operations has been completed in 14 tehsils, with efforts ongoing in six more.

Emphasizing the importance of hands-on supervision, Maryam Nawaz instructed deputy commissioners and senior officials to personally visit villages to ensure cleanliness. She also directed authorities to take decisive action against incidents of stray dog bites in the area.

On the law and order front, the Chief Minister urged strict measures to ensure public safety and prevent miscreant activities.

The meeting highlighted a significant decline in dengue cases in Multan, a development the Chief Minister welcomed. Additionally, she was briefed on the progress of the anti-smog campaign, which led to fines amounting to 4.4 million rupees and the closure of 44 brick kilns for non-compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Maryam Nawaz reiterated the government’s commitment to using all resources to protect and improve the lives of the people in the region.
