Islamabad, September 2, 2026: Pakistan is exploring new avenues to expand opportunities for young people in science, technology, innovation and skills development, with a focus on preparing the country’s youth for the emerging knowledge-based economy.
The initiative came under discussion during a meeting between Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary and Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan in Islamabad.
The two sides discussed potential areas of collaboration and joint initiatives aimed at creating greater opportunities for Pakistani youth in science, technology, innovation, skills development and other knowledge-based fields.
They emphasised the importance of connecting young Pakistanis with the country’s scientific and innovation ecosystem and enabling them to play a meaningful role in the transition towards a knowledge-driven economy.
The meeting also highlighted the need for stronger institutional cooperation to harness the potential of Pakistan’s young population, equip them with modern and market-relevant skills, and provide greater access to emerging fields of science and technology.
