Islamabad, September 3, 2026: Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Han Seung-ho met with Public Relations Officer of the MUSLIM Institute Asif Tanveer Awan to exchange views on Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, regional intellectual traditions and opportunities to expand academic cooperation between Pakistan and Korea.
During the meeting, Ambassador Han heard Awan’s perspectives on the influence of Central Asian traditions on contemporary Pakistani culture, particularly the development of the Urdu language, as well as the enduring relevance of prominent thinkers including Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi and Hazrat Sultan Bahoo.
The discussion highlighted the emphasis these thinkers placed on peace, coexistence, spiritual values and harmony among communities, with both sides noting the relevance of these principles to contemporary societies facing complex social and cultural challenges.
The meeting also covered the historical and cultural links between Pakistan and Korea and explored avenues for promoting greater academic, intellectual and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Both sides underscored the importance of people-to-people contacts, cultural understanding and academic collaboration as important avenues for deepening the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
The interaction also reflected growing opportunities for greater intellectual engagement between Pakistani and Korean institutions, particularly through cultural dialogue, academic exchanges and initiatives aimed at enhancing mutual understanding.
