Islamabad, September 3, 2026: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has extended warm congratulations and best wishes to King Haakon VIII of Norway on his accession to the throne.
In a letter addressed to the newly crowned monarch, Gilani expressed confidence that Norway would continue advancing on the path of peace, democracy, prosperity and social progress under his leadership.
The Acting President also conveyed his best wishes to King Haakon VIII for success in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him as Sovereign of the Kingdom of Norway.
Gilani reaffirmed the longstanding bonds of friendship and mutual respect between Pakistan and Norway, expressing confidence that the cordial relations between the two countries and their peoples would continue to deepen in the years ahead.
He emphasised that enhanced parliamentary cooperation and greater people-to-people contacts could provide important avenues for further strengthening bilateral ties.
The Acting President expressed hope that Pakistan-Norway relations would continue to expand across areas of mutual interest, building on the existing bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
