Islamabad, September 4, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad and signed the condolence book opened in memory of those who lost their lives in devastating floods and landslides in Nepal.
Dar conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the government and people of Nepal during the difficult time.
He noted that climate change was having a disproportionate impact on countries across the region, with increasingly severe consequences for lives, livelihoods and infrastructure.
The deputy prime minister and foreign minister prayed for the departed souls, the swift recovery of those injured and the safety of people still missing following the natural disaster.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Nepal’s relief and recovery efforts, Dar conveyed Islamabad’s readiness to extend all possible assistance to help the country overcome the consequences of the calamity.
Pakistan has repeatedly emphasized the need for greater regional cooperation to address the growing risks posed by climate change and extreme weather events, particularly in vulnerable South Asian countries.
