Islamabad, September 4, 2026: The federal government has appointed Major General Faisal Naseer as National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) for a three-year term.
According to the government’s decision, Major General Faisal Naseer will assume responsibility for coordinating national counterterrorism efforts through NACTA.
The authority plays a key role in coordinating federal and provincial institutions involved in counterterrorism and in developing a unified national strategy to combat terrorism and extremism.
The appointment comes as Pakistan continues efforts to strengthen coordination among security and law enforcement institutions in response to evolving security challenges.
As National Coordinator, Major General Faisal Naseer will oversee coordination among relevant institutions and contribute to the implementation of national counterterrorism policies and strategies.
His three-year tenure is expected to strengthen institutional coordination and support the government’s broader efforts to improve Pakistan’s counterterrorism framework.
