Islamabad, September 8,2026: Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, held a meeting with the High Commissioner of Mauritius to Pakistan, Munsoo Kurrimbaccus, to discuss opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Mauritius in higher education, research and academic exchanges.
The meeting focused on exploring new avenues of collaboration between higher education institutions of the two countries, including academic partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, and enhanced mobility for researchers and scholars.
Both sides discussed initiatives aimed at enabling faculty members, researchers and students to benefit from joint academic programmes, knowledge-sharing and collaborative research opportunities.
The discussions also underscored the importance of strengthening institutional linkages between universities and higher education institutions in Pakistan and Mauritius to promote innovation, mutual learning and capacity building.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Mauritius to deepening educational and academic ties and advancing meaningful cooperation in the fields of higher education and research.
