Islamabad, September 9, 2026: Foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have welcomed the United Kingdom’s decision to ban imports of goods from illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and impose restrictions on services linked to such settlements.

In a joint statement, the ministers expressed hope that the UK move would encourage the international community to adopt similar measures in accordance with international law and hold accountable organizations and individuals involved in illegal settlement activities.

They also welcomed a joint statement on the two-State solution issued by the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The statement confirms the countries’ intention to introduce national and/or support European restrictions on trade in goods originating from settlements deemed illegal under international law.

The ministers urged the international community to build on these steps and adopt concrete measures to end activities supporting or sustaining Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

They said the announced measures were consistent with international law and relevant UN resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016, as well as the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion of July 19, 2024.

The foreign ministers reiterated that all states have an obligation not to recognize as legal the situation arising from Israel’s unlawful occupation and not to provide aid or assistance in maintaining it. They also called on Israel to rescind measures related to settlement activities and other actions aimed at changing the geographic and demographic character of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The ministers stressed that Gaza is an integral part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory and called for the full and immediate implementation of US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.

They said implementation of the plan was essential to ensuring security and stability, addressing the humanitarian crisis, facilitating reconstruction and recovery, and laying the foundations for lasting peace.

The ministers reaffirmed that the only viable path to a just, lasting and comprehensive peace was the implementation of the two-State solution, including the establishment of an independent, sovereign, contiguous and viable Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
