Nisshin, September 18, 2026: Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in the first semi-final of the 2026 Asian Games Women’s Cricket Competition on Sunday after the last-four line-up was confirmed following the completion of the quarter-finals.
The semi-finals will be played at Korogi Sports Park, with the winners advancing to the gold-medal match at the same venue. India will take on Bangladesh in the second semi-final later on Sunday.
Bangladesh secured a semi-final place after its quarter-final against China was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to a wet outfield. Bangladesh advanced on the basis of its higher ranking.
Pakistan booked its place in the last four by defeating Thailand by three wickets in a rain-affected quarter-final.
In the third quarter-final, Sri Lanka defeated Malaysia after posting 160-4 in their allotted 20 overs.
Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu led the scoring with a match-winning 63 off 37 balls, including seven boundaries and three sixes. Kavisha Dilhari added an unbeaten 44 off 27 deliveries, hitting six boundaries.
Malaysia struggled in the chase and finished at 74-7, with Athapaththu, Dilhari and Mithali Ayodhya claiming two wickets each.
India secured the final semi-final spot after defeating Japan in a low-scoring quarter-final.
Japan were bowled out for 57, with Shree Charani taking 4-10 in her four overs. Shafali Verma claimed two wickets, while Deepti Sharma and Shreyanka Patil took one each.
India reached the target after losing two wickets, with Shafali finishing the chase in emphatic fashion with an unbeaten 40 off just 15 balls, including six boundaries and two sixes.
The two semi-finals will determine the teams that will compete for the gold medal at the Asian Games.
