Bridgetown, September 18, 2026: Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan claimed his second career hat-trick in T20 cricket as Antigua and Barbuda Falcons defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by nine wickets in Qualifier 1 of the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Kensington Oval.
Shadab returned impressive figures of 4-16 as the Falcons bowled the Amazon Warriors out for just 76 before racing to the target in only 5.2 overs to secure their place in the CPL final.
Guyana made a strong start, reaching 40-1 after the powerplay, but then collapsed dramatically, losing eight wickets for just nine runs in 3.1 overs.
Pakistan spinner Sufiyan Muqeem began the collapse in the eighth over by dismissing Glenn Phillips for 16 and Mohammad Haris for one.
Shadab then produced the decisive burst in the following over. He first removed Shimron Hetmyer for two, with the batter caught at long-on, before bowling consecutive googlies to dismiss Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Quentin Sampson for first-ball ducks and complete his hat-trick.
The achievement made Shadab only the second Pakistan bowler to claim multiple T20 hat-tricks. His first came in the 2024 Lanka Premier League while representing Colombo Strikers against Kandy Falcons.
Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Sami remains the only Pakistan bowler with more T20 hat-tricks, having taken three during his career.
Shadab also became only the third bowler in CPL history to take a hat-trick. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan recorded the tournament’s first in 2017, while Andre Russell became the second in 2018.
Shadab claimed another wicket in the following over, while Muqeem added two more as the Pakistan duo combined for eight wickets to dismantle the Amazon Warriors batting line-up.
Muqeem finished with 4-13 from his four overs, while Shamar Springer and Joshua James took one wicket each.
Chasing 77, the Falcons completed the task in just 5.2 overs. Rahkeem Cornwall led the charge with a blistering 49 off 16 balls, smashing three fours and six sixes.
Evin Lewis remained unbeaten on 23 off 13 deliveries, while Amir Jangoo contributed four from four balls as the Falcons sealed a comprehensive victory and a place in the CPL final.
