Nisshin, September 22, 2026: Pakistan secured their second victory in the Asian Games men’s hockey tournament with a convincing 5-1 win over Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
Muhammad Imad opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a field goal, but Uzbekistan drew level through Salimjonov Shokhrukhbek, who converted a penalty corner in the 30th minute.
Pakistan quickly regained the lead as Sufyan Khan successfully converted a penalty corner three minutes later.
Abdul Rehman extended Pakistan’s advantage in the 40th minute before Abubakar Mahmood made it 4-1 by converting a penalty stroke in the 45th minute.
Sufyan Khan completed Pakistan’s emphatic victory three minutes from the final whistle, scoring his second goal of the match through another penalty corner.
Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the players and officials on the victory and expressed hope that the team would maintain its winning momentum in the tournament.
