Islamabad, September 23,2026: The Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi in four cases registered in connection with the November 26 protest.
According to details, the warrants were issued in cases registered at Kohsar, Ramna, Karachi Company and Aabpara police stations in Islamabad.
In FIR No. 1032 registered at Kohsar Police Station, arrest warrants were issued against Sohail Afridi and PTI leaders Shahid Khattak, Salar Kakar, Saddam Tareen and Amjad Ali.
The court also issued non-bailable arrest warrants in FIR No. 974 of Ramna Police Station and FIR No. 1193 of Karachi Company Police Station against Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar, Shahid Khattak and Atif Khan.
Similarly, arrest warrants were issued in FIR No. 1228 registered at Aabpara Police Station against nine PTI leaders, including Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar, Shahid Khattak, Atif Khan, Meena Khan, Shafi Jan, Naseem Ali Shah, Iqbal Afridi and Abdul Ghani.
Police told the court that the accused were wanted in the cases and that their arrests were required for investigation. The warrants were issued on the police’s request by ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain.
The latest warrants are in addition to earlier proceedings against Sohail Afridi. Non-bailable arrest warrants had also been issued in FIR No. 714 registered at Margalla Police Station, with the court directing the SHO of Ramna Police Station to arrest and produce the accused before the court.
The Margalla case also involves PTI leaders including Meena Khan, Shahid Khattak and Shafi Jan.
The cases stem from protests held on November 26, with police seeking the arrest of the accused for investigation.
The court proceedings and warrants concern allegations against the accused; issuance of an arrest warrant does not by itself constitute a finding of guilt.
