Multan, September 25, 2026: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan, in collaboration with the District Administration of Kot Addu, has recovered and restored 3,831 acres of land worth approximately Rs8 billion to the Thal Development Authority (TDA), officials said.
The operation was carried out in compliance with directions from the NAB chairman following an inquiry into alleged irregularities in the adjustment and allotment of TDA land.
The relevant land mutations were also cancelled, and the recovered land was restored to the government/TDA after completion of all legal formalities, with assistance from the district administration.
Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Ashfaq Ahmed Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Kot Addu Bilal Saleem and Additional Deputy Commissioner Qudsia Naz provided assistance in the recovery and restoration process.
During its inquiry, NAB Multan conducted a detailed scrutiny of relevant land records and official files. The examination reportedly revealed that thousands of acres of land worth billions of rupees had allegedly been adjusted on the basis of claims exceeding the beneficiaries’ entitlement.
According to NAB, the issue of TDA land adjustment dates back several decades. The Thal Development Authority was established in 1949, and the inquiry into historical land adjustments has brought to light alleged cases involving irregularities, bogus decisions, fabricated records and fraud.
NAB officials said special care was taken during the recovery process to ensure that the legal rights of genuine claimants and lawful landowners were not affected.
NAB Multan has also constituted a dedicated team to scrutinise cases involving alleged illegal and bogus allotments of TDA land. The team is headed by NAB Multan Director Rafiullah.
The bureau said its Multan office has already played a key role in restoring TDA land to the government in Layyah and Kot Addu.
According to NAB officials, the recovery and protection of national assets remain among the bureau’s foremost priorities, and NAB Multan is using available resources to safeguard public property and ensure its lawful recovery.
