New York, September 24,2026: Algerian Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf met with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares in New York to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, expanding economic cooperation, and reviewing regional and international developments.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in cooperation between Algeria and Spain, particularly in the fields of energy, economic cooperation, and trade.
The two foreign ministers also reviewed preparations for the Algeria-Spain High-Level Meeting scheduled for October, which will include a business forum bringing together business representatives from both countries.
On regional and international issues, the two sides exchanged views on developments in the Sahel region and explored ways to strengthen political dialogue and development cooperation to promote peace and stability across the region.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the Middle East, with both sides emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and consultations on matters of mutual interest.
