Islamabad, October 13,2026: Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary held a delegation-level meeting with a high-level delegation of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), led by its Director-General, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation in education, scientific research and capacity-building.
Officials from both organizations participated in the meeting and discussed joint initiatives to enhance academic collaboration and promote knowledge exchange between Pakistan and the Arab world.
The proposed areas of cooperation included fellowship programmes, university partnerships, academic exchanges and stronger institutional links between Arab and Pakistani universities and research institutions.
The two sides also explored university twinning arrangements and specialized training programmes for young academics and researchers to strengthen research capabilities and facilitate professional development.
The meeting also discussed a proposal to establish coordination offices at the premises of both organizations to facilitate regular communication, improve institutional coordination and ensure effective follow-up on joint programmes and initiatives.
The discussions focused on developing practical mechanisms to connect educational and research institutions, expand academic collaboration and create new opportunities for students, faculty members and researchers across Pakistan and the Arab world.
The engagement marked a step towards strengthening institutional ties between OIC-COMSTECH and ALECSO and advancing their shared objectives in education, scientific research and human resource development.
