Islamabad, November 28, 2024–The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) will host its annual flagship dialogue forum, the Islamabad Conclave 2024, on December 3-4. The 4th edition of this prominent event will focus on the theme “Pakistan and the Evolving Global Order”.
A significant Track 1.5 initiative, the Islamabad Conclave serves as a platform for senior Pakistani leadership, international and local experts, academics, and area specialists to assess global and regional developments, analyze their implications for Pakistan, and devise innovative strategies to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
The event’s thematic framework will explore major power competition and its emerging realities, the evolving strategic environment and its impact on global order, the role of middle powers and the Global South, transforming regional dynamics and Pakistan’s posture, and the future of multilateralism. The dialogue will begin with an Inaugural Plenary, followed by five working sessions dedicated to these critical areas, featuring diverse perspectives from prominent speakers. The Concluding Plenary will synthesize insights and recommendations from the discussions.
The Islamabad Conclave has become a key element of Pakistan’s annual policy dialogues, fostering strategic thought and policy development. Last year’s edition, focused on “Pakistan in a Changing World,” generated significant discourse and actionable ideas. This year’s event aims to build on that legacy, addressing Pakistan’s place within the shifting contours of the global order.
