Rawalpindi, October 14,2026: Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan has broken India’s Abhishek Sharma’s record for the most runs scored in a three-match bilateral T20I series between two full-member nations.
Farhan made his first home assignment as Pakistan’s full-time T20I captain memorable, scoring half-centuries in all three matches against Sri Lanka as Pakistan won the series 2-1.
The right-handed batter accumulated 238 runs at an average of 79.33 and a strike rate of 165.27, earning the Player of the Series award.
Farhan surpassed Abhishek’s previous record of 229 runs, set during India’s three-match home series against Afghanistan earlier this year. The Indian opener had scored his runs at an average of 76.33, including a century and a half-century.
Farhan began the series with a match-winning 89 off 53 balls, featuring 10 fours and four sixes, as Pakistan chased down Sri Lanka’s target of 183 to secure a four-wicket victory.
He continued his outstanding form in the second T20I, scoring 73 off just 44 deliveries to help Pakistan post a formidable 215-3. Sri Lanka managed only 133-7 in reply, handing Pakistan a series-clinching victory.
In the final match, Farhan struck another impressive knock of 76 off 47 balls to guide Pakistan to a competitive total. However, Sri Lanka chased down the target to claim a consolation win.
